In order for your son to become more responsible and resilient, he needs to learn how
to handle the kinds of challenges he’ll experience as an adult. The upcoming kayak
event for YMUW graduates will take place on the wild and scenic Tomales Bay, where
your son will learn basic survival skills so that he can acquire more inner strength.
The trip will be challenging, both physically and mentally, and will reinforce some of the
key values the graduates were taught at the YMUW, including teamwork, accountability and determination.
YMUW will be co-hosting this overnight kayaking adventure trip with ETC
(Environmental Traveling Companions), a non-profit organization that safely leads
outdoor adventure programs in order to help people build self-confidence, connect to
nature, and develop a sense of stewardship for the environment.
This journey will create memories, experiences and friendships your son will find most valuable.
