The Danger of Digital Devices

It’s not your son’s fault that he was born into the era of digital dominance.

The constant participation and instant gratification that devices create is diminishing his natural biological drive to become more mature and independent.

This course will show your son an effective way to navigate thru the endless technological distractions so that he can be more mindful and productive.

It’s not mandatory that a young man has attended the Young Men’s Ultimate Weekend in order to attend this event.

Presenter:

Mark Schillinger

Dr. Mark mentoring at the YMUW

Dr. Mark has been called "a teen whisperer" because of his ability to help teens develop their inner wisdom and discover the skills they’ll need in order to handle the challenges of the adult world. He’s a family mentor, social philosopher, public speaker, and an award-winning chiropractor who specializes in mind-body wellness.

He’s the founder of the Young Men’s Ultimate Weekend, a rite of passage adventure camp, and of Challenging Teenage Sons, which teaches parents and their sons how to create lifelong caring and cooperative relationships.

He’s the creator of the RIGHT Way for Family Unity, a method that combines ancestral tribal family wisdom with the sciences of mindfulness-based stress management, adolescent brain development, personal growth, parent-child attachment bonding, and positive discipline.

His work with young men and parents was featured on the CNN show "This is Life With Lisa Ling" in 2020. He’s been mentoring families since 2000.

Whenever Mark and his adult son, Gabe, can find time, they play sports together and collaborate to make African-reggae-hip-hop beats. Gabe attended the first Young Men’s Ultimate Weekend in 2000 and has also served as a YMUW volunteer.
